FeaturesWalking home My nameArt PhotosFamilyFriends Welcome to my online archive of writing and mental debris.
A busy 2008 is shaping up, which may put a hiatus on my journalism as I focus on Art Writing. This year I've taken up two curating roles. As resident curator at Tembi Contemporary, 8.5 km south from the centre of Jogjakarta, Indonesia's arts hub, I will be learning from the country's best curators on how to put the spotlight on the cutting edge of this nation's contemporary expression. My four years of volunteering at Ubud Writers & Readers Festival (UWRF) and last year's experience organizing the Utan Kayu International Literary Biennale have led to the creation of a new role for me as UWRF 2008's National Program Curator. I am holding the position to design the program involving Indonesian writers and help create unique Indonesian experiences for our visiting authors. I am also looking at publishing opportunities for works in translation and creating satelite programs outside Ubud that will bring the festival closer to everyday Indonesian students and readers.
