I am a Bali-based Environmental Engineer and interpreter. Welcome to my website.

The turn of 2010 marks my shift in focus back to Environmental Engineering. I am working with Alila Manggis and Alila Ubud in improving their environmental stewardship by training the staff and selecting a green team to be in charge of reducing each resort's ecological footprint. Key issues include energy efficiency, water conservation and groundwater recharge, as well as coastal protection & rehabilitation (at Manggis).

After participating in eleven literary festivals (Ubud Writers & Readers Festival 2004-2009, Utan Kayu Literary Biennale 2007 & 2009, Kuala Lumpur Literary Festival 2007, Singapore Writers Festival 2008 and the Northern Territory's WordStorm 2010) in the capacity of volunteer, translator, interpreter, MC, cultural liaison, guide, organizer, curator, moderator and guest speaker, I have decided to take take a break. It is time to apply the knowledge and inspiration received at those festivals into my own writing.

I am also reducing my involvement in the visual arts to focus on introducing one new (relatively unknown) artist into the Indonesian arts scene. After being trusted with being resident curator of Tembi Contemporary in 2008 and becoming an independent curator in 2009, I have recognized that up-and-coming artists rarely have the patience, persistence or priviledge to focus on generating a comprehensive body of work. This year I will introduce Maria Thomet's Solo exhibition of portraits titled Potent Charm.
